DOG LICENSES ARE DUE ANNUALLY BY MARCH 31

Penalties: An owner who fails to have a dog vaccinated against rabies may be required to forfeit not less than $50 and not more than $100 for each dog not vaccinated. An owner who fails to obtain a license before April 1 of a license year will be required to pay a late fee of $6 for each dog not licensed before that date. Failure to license a dog can also result in a  forfeiture of up to $500 for each offense.  Pursuant to Section 174.15 of the Wisconsin Statutes, however, any person who violates Section 174 shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned up to 60 days or both.
